Recap: South Panola Tigers vs. Grenada Chargers
The South Panola Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They lost to Grenada on the road by a decisive 63-47 margin. South Panola was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grenada apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Grenada was led to victory by Jarques Perry and Caleb Howard. Perry dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds, while Howard dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Perry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelton Jones, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
South Panola's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-14. As for Grenada, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
South Panola will be playing in front of their home fans against Center Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Hill is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Grenada, they will head out on the road to square off against Olive Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
