Basketball Recap: Pawhuska Comes Up Short

Pawhuska's tournament run continued when they took on Luther on Wednesday. The Pawhuska Huskies fell 56-45 to the Luther Lions. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Lions are ranked 134th).

When it comes to explaining why Pawhuska lost, don't look at Dax Godsey. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 13 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Godsey a new career-high.

Pawhuska's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Luther, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pawhuska will take on Newkirk at 8:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Luther, they will square off against Community Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
