Basketball Game Preview: Cibola Raiders vs. Browne Bruins

The Cibola Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Browne Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Cibola came up short against Mountain View and fell 56-48. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Toros: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Browne can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They blew past South Mountain 76-54.

Cibola better focus on containing Adam Chaffin and Karmello Walker as the pair were huge in Browne's win. Chaffin went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven blocks, while Walker dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Chaffin has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Raevonta Hill, who posted eight points and four steals.

Browne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

Browne's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-12. As for Cibola, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Cibola strolled past Browne in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 69-54. Does Cibola have another victory up their sleeve, or will Browne turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
