Prospect Mountain is 6-1 against Raymond since June of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will venture away from home to challenge the Rams at 3:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Prospect Mountain sitting on 16 straight victories and Raymond on eight.
On Monday, Prospect Mountain got the win against Trinity by a conclusive 16-8. Considering the Timberwolves have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sophia Bowman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Tori Christie was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Wilson, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Raymond came out on top against Conant on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Rams won by a run and slipped past the Orioles 6-5.
Dinkenesh Levesque was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sophie Huynh was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Lily-Mae Lemieux also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Prospect Mountain pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Raymond, their record now sits at 9-3.
Prospect Mountain took their win against Raymond in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
