Football Recap: Toombs County Skates Past Charlton County with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Toombs County). They blew past the Charlton County Indians 59-7 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Toombs County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Powell, who rushed for 111 yards and one score on only nine carries. Powell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 111 rushing yards. Cameron Brown was in the mix too, providing Toombs County with one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Toombs County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Toombs County's record now sits at 4-1. As for Charlton County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Toombs County and Charlton County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Bulldogs see the field they'll take on Tattnall County at 8:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Charlton County, their break will end when they face Lanier County at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
