Basketball Game Preview: KIPP P Pride vs. Weldon Chargers

KIPP P and Weldon are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The KIPP P Pride will be playing at home against the Weldon Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. KIPP P knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Weldon likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, KIPP P came up short against North Edgecombe and fell 65-55. The Pride have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Weldon was beaten by Northwest Halifax 48-18 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Weldon's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for KIPP P, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

KIPP P came up short against Weldon in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 69-61. Can KIPP P avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
