Softball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Comes Up Short

Abingdon/Avon's last matchup with Knoxville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Tornadoes came up short against the Blue Bullets, falling 12-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their meetings with the Blue Bullets: they've now lost three in a row.

Abingdon/Avon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Onion, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Abingdon/Avon's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Knoxville, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abingdon/Avon will square off against West Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Knoxville, they will face off against El Paso-Gridley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.45 runs per game on average), something the Blue Bullets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
