Basketball Recap: Reed Point/Rapelje Comes Up Short

Reed Point/Rapelje was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 82-41 loss at the hands of Custer/Hysham. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Renegades this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-44 back in December of 2024.

Reed Point/Rapelje's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Landen Bryant, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Marshall Ulmer, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Reed Point/Rapelje was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Reed Point/Rapelje's record now sits at 1-6. As for Custer/Hysham, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reed Point/Rapelje won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Broadview/Lavina at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Broadview/Lavina will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Reed Point/Rapelje surely won't give up without a fight. As for Custer/Hysham, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Roberts at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
