Softball Recap: Highland's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Highland has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.83 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They fell just short of the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies by a score of 14-12. The Rams have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Emerson Gifford was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Katelyn Humphrys also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Highland fell to 5-1. As for Rocky Mountain, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Highland beat Rocky Mountain by a score of 14-5 later that day.
