After a string of four wins, Plaquemine's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 8-3 to the Cecilia Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Devils of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2015.

Plaquemine's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Cecilia, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6-1.

Looking ahead, Plaquemine will square off against Family Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Family Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season. As for Cecilia, they are taking a road trip to challenge Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Cecilia likes a good challenge.
