Basketball Recap: Hitchcock-Tulare Drops Season-High Score on Sunshine Bible Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hitchcock-Tulare). They strolled past the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 69-50. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Despite the loss, Sunshine Bible Academy still got an impressive performance from Trey Thieman, who went 8 for 15 en route to 23 points and three steals. Tarrence Mickelson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Hitchcock-Tulare has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Hitchcock-Tulare will square off against James Valley Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. James Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Hitchcock-Tulare likes a good challenge. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, they will be playing at home against Colome at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
