Recap: Columbia Independent vs. Christian Fellowship
Columbia Independent's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 58-39 fall against Christian Fellowship. Columbia Independent has struggled against Christian Fellowship recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Columbia Independent lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Deolu Adibiyi, who scored 15 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adibiyi has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Blake Morris, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Leading Christian Fellowship to victory were Luke Davis and Abe Seboldt. Davis scored 20 points along with six steals, while Seboldt scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Royer, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Columbia Independent's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Christian Fellowship, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Columbia Independent will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Prairie Home at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Prairie Home will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Columbia Independent surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christian Fellowship, they will head out on the road to square off against Lighthouse Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Lighthouse Prep Academy: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Christian Fellowship has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
