Volleyball Recap: Monte Vista Pirates vs. Telluride Miners
Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Telluride Miners.
Madison Henderhan paced Monte Vista's offense, picking up ten kills. Henderhan were helped by Abbi Ortega and Evie Hinds, who contributed 12 assists each. Destiny Pacheco and Trinatty Romero kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Telluride, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Monte Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Lake County on the 1st. Telluride does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
