Recap: Pittsfield Generals vs. Guilderland Flying Dutchmen

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Colonie Central, the Pittsfield Generals were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Guilderland 76-33 on the road. Given Pittsfield's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 67th in Massachusetts, while Guilderland is ranked 657th in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Malachi Perry was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kyle Cardoso, who scored ten points.

Pittsfield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Guilderland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.

Pittsfield won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Commerce at 7:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Commerce is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Guilderland and Troy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Troy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
