Volleyball Recap: Charleston Collegiate Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Charleston Collegiate can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors on Friday. The Sundevils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Andrew Jackson Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was McKinnley Beard, who had 20 kills and five digs. Beard is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Bella Carrigg was another key player, getting 25 assists.

Charleston Collegiate has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season.

Charleston Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Andrew Jackson Academy has already played their next match (against King's Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
