Softball Recap: Hubbard Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Vincent-St. Mary on Thursday, Hubbard came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 10-6 to the Poland Seminary Bulldogs on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Layla Songer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emalee Warren, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Hubbard's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Poland Seminary, their record now sits at 12-9.

Looking ahead, Hubbard is taking a road trip to face off against Pymatuning Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Poland Seminary, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against LaBrae at 5:00 p.m.
