Soccer Game Preview: Pelican Rapids vs. Minnewaska Area

The Pelican Rapids Vikings will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Minnewaska Area Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pelican Rapids will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Tuesday, then bounced right back against East Grand Forks on Thursday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Green Wave with a sharp 4-1 win. The victory continues a trend for Pelican Rapids in their matchups with East Grand Forks: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Minnewaska Area gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Melrose. The game was the first time Minnewaska Area have beaten Melrose on their pitch since September 3, 2019.

Minnewaska Area's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pelican Rapids, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
