Basketball Recap: Zavion Quiroz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kermit over Jal

Kermit was the 66-51 winner over Jal when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Kermit Yellow Jackets fell 57-47 to the Jal Panthers on Saturday.

Kermit lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zavion Quiroz, who posted 12 points. Diego Juarez was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Kermit's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Jal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Kermit will host Lovington at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lovington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.5 points per game this season. As for Jal, they will be taking part in a tournament against Whitharral at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
