Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Catholic

Catholic hadn't done well against Vilonia recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Catholic Rockets walked away with a 56-44 win over the Vilonia Eagles. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rockets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Eagles are ranked 31st).

Catholic's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Vilonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catholic will square off against Sylvan Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vilonia, they will take on Little Rock Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Little Rock Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Vilonia likes a good challenge.
