Soccer Game Preview: North Plainfield vs. Piscataway

The North Plainfield Canucks will venture away from home to challenge the Piscataway Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Saturday just wasn't the day for North Plainfield's offense. They came up short against Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Saturday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, North Plainfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Scotch Plains-Fanwood are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Piscataway had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Tigers.

North Plainfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-2-1. As for Piscataway, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1.

North Plainfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Piscataway in their previous matchup back in August, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Canucks repeat their success, or do the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
