The St. David's Warriors will take on the New Life Camp Storm at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. St. David's is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
On Thursday, St. David's didn't have quite enough to beat Coastal Christian and fell 8-7.
Thomas Vinson and John Thagard did some serious damage despite the final result: Vinson went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Thagard got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, New Life Camp was able to grind out a solid win over Chatham HomeSchool last Thursday, taking the game 9-5. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Andrew Mullis made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because New Life Camp is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise. Mullis was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, New Life Camp let Ethan Windley and Cole Corso run wild. Windley went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Corso went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Windley has posted since back in April of 2024. Seth Massie was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.
New Life Camp was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chatham HomeSchool only posted a batting average of .182.
New Life Camp's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for St. David's, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
St. David's couldn't quite get it done against New Life Camp when the teams last played back in March of 2020 as they fell 7-2. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
