Basketball Recap: Evans Trojans vs. Wekiva Mustangs
Evans was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 59-17 defeat at the hands of the Wekiva Mustangs. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.
Wekiva's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Senaia Asanya, who went 7 of 8 en route to 14 points. That's the most points Asanya has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Bell, who posted 11 points and three steals.
Evans' loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Wekiva, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.
Evans does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wekiva, they will head out on the road to take on East River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East River will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Wekiva surely won't give up without a fight.
