Softball Recap: Frontier's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Frontier was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell 5-2 to the Bakersfield Christian Eagles. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Charley Hawkins was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Frontier's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Bakersfield Christian, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Frontier will challenge Stockdale at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bakersfield Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-5 victory against Bishop Union on the 28th.
