Softball Recap: Midwest Central/Illini Central Victorious

Midwest Central/Illini Central's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lexi Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. The game marked her first with multiple earned runs this season.

At the plate, Grace Meeks was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Mia Warner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Midwest Central/Illini Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Midwest Central/Illini Central will head out to challenge Williamsville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
