Baseball Recap: Brandon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brandon can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Martin Yellow Jackets by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellow Jackets earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Jay McQueen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

Brandon's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-12. As for St. Martin, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brandon beat St. Martin by a score of 11-1 on Monday.
