The Pleasant Grove Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Rocklin Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pleasant Grove will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Pleasant Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Ponderosa on Thursday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Madeline Lawson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Paredes, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Natalie Brozaitis was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Paredes wasn't the only one making solid contact: Pleasant Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Rocklin faced Whitney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Thunder came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.
Rocklin also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Payton Prior gave up three earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Katie Wetteland was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Savannah Lorenzini, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Pleasant Grove has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Rocklin, their record is now 11-2.
Pleasant Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocklin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
