Volleyball Recap: Normandy Takes a Loss

Normandy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Steele Comets.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Normandy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-16, 20-25, 25-13, 23-25, 15-6.

Jake Penano was nothing short of spectacular for Steele: he had 20 digs and three aces. Those 20 digs gave Penano a new career-high. David Lewis was another key player, getting four digs and two aces.

Normandy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Steele, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Normandy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Avon on the 15th. As for Steele, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Northview on the 12th.
