Volleyball Recap: Weeping Water Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jaelis Brito- Diaz and Ella Huskey

Weeping Water was the 3-0 winner over Mead when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell 2-0 to the Raiders on Thursday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Weeping Water had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18.

Weeping Water's loss came despite strong showings from Ella Huskey and Jaelis Brito- Diaz. Huskey had 15 digs and nine assists, while Brito- Diaz had 14 digs and one assist. Huskey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Weeping Water's loss dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Mead, their win ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.

Coincidentally, Weeping Water and Mead will both be playing Cedar Bluffs the next time they take the court. The Indians will head out to face the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
