Football Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Clayton Valley Charter and Monte Vista squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Clayton Valley Charter had to settle for second. They took a 24-10 bruising from the Mustangs. The matchup marked the Ugly Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Andres Watts, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Torin Dunphy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Monte Vista. Dunphy didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Clayton Valley Charter's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Monte Vista, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Clayton Valley Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monte Vista, they will take on St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Henry Lasker and Luke Tribolet.
