Baseball Game Preview: Columbia Academy Cougars vs. Parklane Academy Pioneers

For the second straight game, Columbia Academy will face off against Parklane Academy. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbia Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Columbia Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Parklane Academy get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

Logan Buckley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Carson Stuart was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Corban Lawrence was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Columbia Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Parklane Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
