Volleyball Game Preview: Ignite Athletics Flames vs. Covenant Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Ignite Athletics Flames and the Covenant Eagles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, Ignite Athletics didn't have quite enough to beat Ross County Christian Academy and fell 2-1. The Flames have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Ignite Athletics sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 18-25, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Ignite Athletics saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kiera Hager had 23 digs. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for Hager.

Meanwhile, Covenant lost 3-0 to Ohio Valley Christian two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-11.

Covenant's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ignite Athletics, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
