Volleyball Recap: Exeter Comes Up Short

The Exeter Monarchs didn't have quite enough to beat the Sanger West Hornets on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Exeter took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Ariel Vang was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 26 assists and five digs. Those 26 assists gave her a new career-high.

Exeter's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sanger West, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Exeter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Tulare Western on the 21st. As for Sanger West, they will face off against Dinuba at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
