Baseball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Smoky Hill Buffaloes

The Bloomfield Bobcats will challenge the Smoky Hill Buffaloes at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Bloomfield's offense. They came up short against Piedra Vista on Thursday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bloomfield's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Smoky Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bloomfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Smoky Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
