Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Notre Dame Academy

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Notre Dame Academy and Bay Port, and Notre Dame Academy kept the tradition alive. The Tritons came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday. For the Tritons, this counts as revenge for the 1-0 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Notre Dame Academy got a great performance from Drew Magnuson as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Christian Collins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Jack Collins also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Notre Dame Academy pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Bay Port, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Notre Dame Academy will challenge Ashwaubenon at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. The Jaguars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Tritons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bay Port, they will welcome Green Bay Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
