Baseball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

If Salem was feeling good fresh off their 17-4 takedown of Green Run last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sundevils came up short against the Kellam Knights on Thursday, falling 10-3. The Sundevils haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Salem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Rigsby, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Rigsby is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cole Cooper was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Kellam, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Salem is set to take on their familiar foe Ocean Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kellam will square off against rival Princess Anne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
