Softball Recap: Courtland's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Courtland came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Culpeper County Blue Devils with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Courtland got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Buchanan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Buchanan a new career-high. Kaitlyn Malie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Courtland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Courtland's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Culpeper County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
