Soccer Game Preview: Lamar County vs. Jackson

The Lamar County Trojans will take on the Jackson Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Lamar County came up short against Academy for Classical Education and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, Lamar County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Academy for Classical Education are ranked 46th).

Raegyn Smith and Ava Bushby scored both of Lamar County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Jackson made sure to put some goals up on the board against Westside on Monday. They walked away with a 6-4 victory over the Seminoles. The win continues a trend for Jackson in their matchups with Westside: they've now won five in a row.

This is the second loss in a row for Lamar County and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.

Lamar County beat Jackson 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
