Softball Recap: Hopkins Comes Up Short

Hopkins fell victim to Eden Prairie and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Royals have suffered against the Eagles since May 10, 2019.

Hopkins has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Eden Prairie, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Hopkins will challenge Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Eden Prairie, they will face off against Edina at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.8, the Hornets 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
