Preview: Centennial Hawks vs. Alamogordo Tigers
Centennial is 10-0 against Alamogordo since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Centennial Hawks will be playing at home against the Alamogordo Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, a fact Centennial proved on Tuesday. They managed a 49-45 victory over Las Cruces.
Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avellana Vigil-Villalobos, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vigil-Villalobos has scored all season. Audi Torrez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Alamogordo took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 51-20 win over Gadsden. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Alamogordo.
Centennial's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10. As for Alamogordo, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Centennial didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Alamogordo in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. Will Centennial repeat their success, or does Alamogordo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
