Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Prep Stars vs. Broome Centurions

The Mountain View Prep Stars will square off against the Broome Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain View Prep has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 21.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-24, which was the final score in Mountain View Prep's tilt against Charlotte Country Day School on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Stars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 247th in South Carolina, while the Buccaneers are ranked 82nd in North Carolina).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Broome). They claimed a resounding 74-21 win over Greer Middle College. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Centurions have posted since December 18, 2023.

Broome found their leader in sophomore Kourtney Wofford, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wofford has scored all season. Diamond Martin was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Mountain View Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Broome, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
