Baseball Recap: Moore Catholic Victorious

While Moore Catholic put up some runs on Sunday, the same can't be said for New Castle. Moore Catholic came out on top against New Castle by a score of 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mavericks.

JOE MALPESO tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, BRIAN BADALAMENTI was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of TODD VIERRA, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win got Moore Catholic back to even at 2-2. As for New Castle, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Moore Catholic will look to defend their home field on Monday against Sissonville at 8:30 a.m. As for New Castle, they will face off against Ellwood City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
