Softball Recap: Hokes Bluff Comes Up Short

While it was Hokes Bluff who put the first runs on the board on Saturday, it was Pleasant Valley who put up more. The Eagles might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hokes Bluff saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lacey Grace Hall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another was Sophia Jackson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Hokes Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 17-22. As for Pleasant Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-10 record this season.

Hokes Bluff will face off against Oneonta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasant Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Woodland on the 12th.
