Softball Recap: Leigh Comes Up Short

Leigh saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maria Carrillo Pumas.

Leigh saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Manning-Alarcon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Leigh's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Maria Carrillo, their record now sits at 7-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leigh will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Santa Teresa at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Maria Carrillo, they will challenge Cardinal Newman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Pumas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
