Basketball Preview: Cuero Gobblers vs. Taylor Ducks
The Cuero Gobblers and the Taylor Ducks will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Cuero saw some tournament action two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Liberty as Cuero made off with a 69-45 win.
Meanwhile, Taylor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They wrapped up 2024 with a 67-53 victory over the Tigers.
Cuero better keep an eye on TJ Whybrew. He was instrumental in Taylor's win, going 9 for 15 on his way to 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.
