Softball Recap: Union City Takes a Loss

Union City lost against Bayonne back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Soaring Eagles lost 21-1 to the Bees. The Soaring Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zo? Mays was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Mays is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Union City's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Bayonne, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Union City will take on rival Hoboken at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bayonne is set to square off against their familiar foe Hudson Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
