Chesterfield hadn't done well against Cheraw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Chesterfield Golden Rams had just enough and edged the Cheraw Braves out 48-45. This was a revenge game for the Golden Rams: when they faced off against the Braves back in January, they had to take a 51-43 defeat.

Despite the loss, Cheraw had strong showings from Anthony Strong, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards, and De'Shaun Drake, who went 5 of 11 to rack up 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Strong has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah McClain, who scored ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Chesterfield and bumps their season record up to 5-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Cheraw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

Coming up, Chesterfield will be playing in front of their home fans against North Central at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Chesterfield is facing North Central at the right time seeing as North Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cheraw, they will head out on the road to square off against Andrew Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
