The Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Central City Value with a sharp 64-42 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-19.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences was led to victory by Jahangir Tareen and Jared Dijamco. Tareen dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Dijamco scored 19 points. The matchup was Tareen's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Sarieddine was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Central City Value's loss came despite strong showings from Leonel Chavez and Andy Lobos. Chavez dropped a double-double on 10 points and 14 rebounds, while Lobos scored 19 points along with 3 steals. Lobos scored a full 45.2% of Central City Value's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Central City Value, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences will be playing at home against University Prep Value at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. University Prep Value is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. Central City Value will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Fulton at 10:30 a.m. on December 2nd.
