Basketball Recap: Pearland Piles Up the Points Against Fort Bend Dulles

Pearland lost to Fort Bend Dulles back in November of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Oilers claimed a resounding 73-18 win over the Vikings. The game marked the Oilers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Leading Pearland to victory were Anita Nwosu and Takora Shields. Nwosu shot 82% from the field on her way to 19 points and seven boards, while Shields went 7-for-10 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Nwosu now owns an excellent 46.2% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Melena Guerra, who posted eight points and three steals.

Pearland was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Pearland and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for Fort Bend Dulles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Pearland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 33-25 win against Clear Falls on the 14th. Fort Bend Dulles has also already played their next contest (against La Porte), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
