Wayland is 9-0-1 against Waltham since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will take on the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Wayland's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wayland fell victim to Concord-Carlisle and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Wayland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Concord-Carlisle are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Waltham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Lincoln-Sudbury 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Waltham were the better team in the second half.

Wayland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-3. As for Waltham, their win bumped their record up to 6-4-6.

Wayland skirted past Waltham 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
