Softball Recap: Columbus East Olympians vs. Connersville Spartans

Connersville typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Columbus East proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Connersville Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Columbus East.

Hermione Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Savanna Sullivan, who went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Lola Watkins was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two runs and a triple.

As for Connersville, they will head out on the road to square off against East Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. East Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
